Cooking Steps

Get Prepped
1
  • Preheat your oven to 190°C/170°C fan/gas mark 5.
  • Halve, core and finely chop the pear
  • In a bowl, mix the cake batter, cinnamon and chopped pear.
  • Line an oven dish (approx 15x20cm) and pop the batter into it.
Bake the Cake
2
  • Bake the cake in the oven until it's firm to touch and a skewer inserted comes out clean, 45-50 mins.
  • Once cooked, set aside to cool completely.
  • Meanwhile, add the cream cheese and 2 tsp sugar to a bowl.
  • Whisk vigorously until smooth, 1 min.
Slice and Serve
3
  • Once cooled, transfer the cake to a plate or serving board.
  • Place the cream cheese frosting in a piping bag and drizzle over the cake (you can also use a freezer bag with a small incision in one of the corners).
  • Or, if you prefer, simply spoon the frosting on top.
